Weekend Wonderland

Another weekend has flown past especially as mine was jam packed!

Saturday morning a friend came round for a visit so I decided to bake some croissants

In return I was given this wonderful baking book as a housewarming present

There are many delicious recipes for me to try

Later that afternoon I joined my family to celebrate my great aunt and uncle’s 60th wedding anniversary

What an achievement!

Sunday may be the day of rest but not for me as Kelly & I headed off to see Alice in Wonderland

WOW what an amazing film

Typical Tim Burton it was a visual treat, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter were fantastic and whilst it might not have been as light and fluffy as the Disney cartoon version it was a great film nonetheless.

My cinema viewing for the day wasn’t over as I joined my SIL to see Shutter Island

Despite the promising trailer I did not enjoy this one and found it boring!!!

What did you get up to this weekend?

  1. You have been a busy bee. You're certainly right that to be married and in love for 60 years is an amazing achievement, so lovely to hear of and I wish them all the very best, how lovely.

  8. 60 years. Crikey. If husband and I achieved that it would be a miracle, I'd be 93 and he's 10 years older than me!!!! Well done them, something to be proud of.

boo hoo, the first piccie wouldn't load in for me :O( but I bet they were yummy scrummy. I love croissants. With a dollop of Bonne Maman strawberry jam, scrum. I tend to save it as a summer brekkie treat, so I can sit in the garden and scoff it. No idea why, it's just my favourite thing to do in summer.

That cookbook looks great. can I come round for a brew and a plate full of munchies?!

    xx

  15. Hi Victoria, What a lovely cookbook you received! Congrats to your aunt and uncle for 60 years, that IS amazing! I worked as I usually do on weekends, but I did manage to make a couple gorgeous wreaths that I put on my blog today and I got out of cooking and went to a new restaurant in town and tried tofu cheesecake! It was ok, but you can tell it's tofu and NOT cream cheese! I think it lost its flavor, but I am sure it was healthier for me! Suzie
