OSCARS

Regular readers of my blog will know I love Oscar night
I will have dark circles under my eyes in the morning as I sit up till the early hours particularly paying attention to the red carpet entrances

One of the first on the carpet was Milla Jovovich and she looked stunning, like the movie stars of old

Can't wait to see how many more stunning (and not so!) dresses make their way down the carpet!

De-Cluttering History

Whilst sorting through my sideboard during my mammoth de-cluttering sessions I can across a pile of old video tapes with various home movies etc on them

For years they have sat in the cupboards unable to be watched as I constantly intended to learn how to transfer on to DVD, buy a video or similar

This time I bagged them up and took them into the local branch of Snappy Snaps and had them all transferred to DVD

Now this wasn't cheap and I'm sure there are cheaper services etc but it was a fantastic feeling to cross this task that has been on the list for many years off the list

Shopping in Sloane Square and decorating the home

After a sad day Wednesday my mum, Ben & I rewarded ourselves with a trip to Sloane Square. Most of our day was spent in Peter Jones where we indulged in a spot of lunch and obligatory glass of wine for mum. I treated myself to a lovely Barbour jacket and a lovely jar from BrissiSaturday was spent visiting my niece and nephew and then I was supposed to go here for afternoon tea but ended up here due to getting lost!

My friend & I still managed to have some lunch and I picked up a new plant and pot - again another addition to the front room! Then it was a return trip to The Range for MORE frames for the "wonderwall"

Saying Goodbye

Today we said goodbye to my uncle.
It was a difficult day not helped by traffic closures on the motorways but we go through it and my utmost admiration goes to my cousin who managed to read a heartfelt poem during the service despite her grief

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone has had a day filled with hearts, flowers and lot's of love. I even received a rose from the waiter during a lunch with friends. This evening my friend Ben and I are having a takeaway and DVD night and he brought me these gorgeous roses, not bad for a single gal.

New Wonderwall

This evening I finally started to put some pictures on the walls and I love how it's starting to look already. The Victoria bus sign was a Christmas gift from Oliver Bonas and I was unsure whether to make it the central item on the wall but asking some friends advice they all said it's where I need to start and I think they were right!

My wall was inspired by my SIL's "wonderwall" and I picked the theme of couples. I didn't want the "traditional" images from particular films and have had great fun selecting couples and images to use and will be off to the photographers at the weekend to have the next batch printed so hopefully I'll have an updated wall to show you next week!

Back to Decorating

Firstly thank you so very much for all your heart warming comments on my post about my uncle who recently passed. I love the community us bloggers have, we might not have met, we might not always comment on each other posts but we know we're there reading in the background and when a heartbreaking moment occurs we are there to offer our support

Unfortunately the funeral is not for a few weeks, taking place on 15th February so there has been an element of having to get back to normal whilst we wait for this sad day so last weekend I took to the task of decorating once again

and finally painted my ceiling

I can't say I enjoyed this task very much and there is an awful lot of paint spots on my carpet which I'm tackling bit by bit with my nail polish remover (great tip which seems to work!)

I celebrated painting the ceiling by putting up my new lights - unfortunately they are too small!

So it has been back to the drawing board looking at alternatives
(which have been found and ordered and I'll share on their arrival!)

As for this weekend of course we saw the big freeze arrive but this little cutie saw me hike to my parents for cuddles

Now I must be off as my 100 free listings have been reactivated on eBay and I'm itching to get going again!
