Happy Birthday!

Today I'm wishing my lovely nephew Brody a Happy 2nd Birthday

Sadly yesterday's trip to Father Christmas was a little distressing for Brody

although we're all LOVING this picture - can't wait to get this out on his 21st birthday!!

We had planned a trip to the zoo today but unfortunately Brody isn't well so instead it's round to his mum and dads for lunch and presents

An Audience with Santa!

I have a couple of days off work starting tomorrow and we're taking my nephew to meet Father Christmas

You may remember our trip to Van Hagues last year

Unfortunately they are only offering weekend meet and greets so this year it's off to the Essex girls favourite - Lakeside!!

I'll be back with more photos very soon!

Book Review | Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

It's been sometime since I've shared with you what I'm reading because I haven't felt the inclination to pick up a book and there haven't been any to tell you about!

Until of course the latest Shopaholic book arrived on the library shelf for me!

Unfortunately I'm not enjoying Mini Shopaholic as much as the previous offerings. Sadly the film has somewhat ruined the image of Becky Bloomwood I had in my head and it doesn't feel so personal anymore

Are you a Shopaholic fan who feels the same?

Lot's of Laughs

It may be Monday but today I'm not so glum as I've had a fantastic weekend filled with lot's of fun and laughter!

Friday started with a trip to see Dirty Dancing on stage.... despite seats in the second row and a Johnny with a rather eye pleasing six pack we did think it was more like a very good school production rather than a west end hit. The ending and the infamous "no one puts baby in the corner" was VERY cheesy and had my friend and I in a fit of laughter all the way home!

Saturday it was off to Cambridge for a day of shopping and lunch with my aunts and cousins. My cousins and I were in a silly mood whilst waiting for our pizzas

Hmmmm who says you shouldn't play with your food?

There were almost some tears when mum wouldn't treat Beth to Donald!

How much fun can you have with a packet of Percy Pigs?!

In between shopping and theatre trips I've also been doing some further much needed jobs around home including putting some of my pictures on the wall

Curtains and pictures on the wall are certainly helping the room feel much cosier!

I hope your weekend was filled with lots of laughs too

Lest we forget

Remembering those who at the call of King and country left all that is

dear to them, endured hardness, faced danger and finally passed out of
the sight of men by the path of duty and self sacrifice giving their
lives that others might live in freedom

Curtain Call

At last I have some curtains up in my front room!
I think they'll compliment the new red sofa covers I've ordered perfectly to make my living room look festive for Christmas!

Gift Wrapping

In blogland we all love wrapping our presents in brown paper tied with pretty ribbons don’t we?

I love to add a vintage brooch picked up from a charity shop or boot sale to add a little something extra

sunday 002

Brooches often cost less than pricey paper and tags

This year I’m going to look out for button badges for a more kitsch look for the younger members of my family
