I meant to publish this post before Christmas but as usual time ran away we with me but as boot sale season is due to start shortly it might even been more useful now!
The women in my family have a love of Martini’s due to our holidays over the years when we’d all meet for pre-dinner drinks, indulging in one or two glasses!
My mum picked up the Martini glass for herself at our local antique centre to enjoy her drinks from at home
When I saw a Martini cocktail shaker in the local charity shop I knew she’d appreciate it as a gift
Looking at the 3 items together wouldn’t they make a fabulous gift for someone?
I often see branded glasses and accessories at boot sales and charity shops and don’t you agree this’d be far nicer than those pre-packaged sets lining supermarket shelves?
I’m sure Christmas 2010 is farthest from our minds at the moment but next time you’re out thrifting have a look at what goodies can be snapped up for gifts
actually, Christmas is not an awfully long way away at all! you only have to look at how much of the year has already slipped under our noses! suzie xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun gift idea!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more Victoria; well chosen, vintage pieces all add up to a gift that's so charming. I love this idea! Hope all is well and wishing you a lovely weekend ~ x
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! It's never too early to think of Christmas...really it will be here before we know it...hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteI'm always on the lookout for good Christmas ideas, so not too early for me :O)
ReplyDeleteLove your idea, you are right, looks very nice :O)

I shop for Christmas all year round too, always keeping an eye out for suitable gifts. This is a really good idea though, thanks for the inspiration.

That is a really great idea Victoria, would make a fantastic present.

That would make a lovely gift :) x
ReplyDeleteI always try to buy presents at car boot sales, thrift stores and the like. My first excuse for buying LOL! But you are right, what you find over there usually is far more original than prepacked items from the store. Your Martini set is too cute! Often vintage items have a better quality too. Last but not least: when you buy a bunch of flowers it will cost you around 10 quid and it lasts only a week. I prefer a vintage gift! (giving and receiving, hope my cousin reads this!) Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea - thanks for that! xx
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea Victoria!! It looks like very expensive gift!!

Great idea and have to agree with Suzie, once May and most of the Birthdays out of the way, I'll definately be making a start on the Christmas gifts.

Such a great idea! Have a sweet day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift they would make. I have to agree with Suzie. It is certainly flying by. It is still a while away though (phew)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,

..mmh..those bits look very intriguing, I wonder how many of them my grandparents had when they ran a cafè. Do you collect also Coca-Cola bits?
ReplyDeletexxx
I think they're great. Far better than what you can buy in most modern shops as you say.
ReplyDeleteOh tut, go and wash your mouth out with soap, you mentioned the C word!!! In March!!! And no, not the Car boot word, the other one, humph.
ReplyDeleteBut I agree about the glasses. I bought a set of 6 Guiness glasses at a boot fair not long ago, for £2, and they are great.
I'd be happy with that as a present!
ReplyDeleteI always think of you and Mummy C when i se babycham glasses!
Yes it would make a lovely pressie and I couldn't agree more about looking out for Christmas presents all year round.
ReplyDeleteI like Sunday morning Martini's in a little bar in Pamplona, xxx
