Tredwell's link |
This is a very overdue post from December but as I'm recommending Tredwell's to anyone that will listen I thought it was high time I gave it a mention on Florence and Mary.
Marcus Wareing's informal dining spot in the West End was recommended to me by the lovely Angie Silverspoon when I was looking for recommendations for dinner before the theatre. My friend and work colleague Caroline and I were being treated to dinner by our boss for Christmas and this seemed the perfect choice. Whenever we're dining out together I have to be sure that we cater for Caroline as a vegetarian with as much choice as I would have - and often more as she'll eat fish whereas I will not.
For main I picked lamp chops, Caroline the haddock and we shared sides of broccoli and sweet potato fries, again small portions but just enough to this time to leave for dessert. We both decided on the chocolate mousse and cornflake pudding which was amazing. The warm mousse melted in the mouth and the crisp cornflakes had enough crunch to make it interesting. It might look much in the bowl but it was so much more to taste
On the other Tredwells is a must if you want somewhere informal but a step up from your usual chain venue. It's worth the extra expense.
I'd love to know if you saw the show what you thought, or indeed if you've been to Tredwells.
Aww I thought the Lion King would have been good to see on the stage :-(. The food looks fab I quite like Marcus from what I have seen of him on the tv - reading the menu - would charred bread be known more commonly as... toast??? ;-) lol xxx How many sleeps now??? mwah!
ReplyDeleteI was of the same thought but sadly it fell flat. I believe you are correct in your culinary assumption!! 5 sleeps to go!!!
DeleteI'm so glad that you liked Tredwells, we also really enjoyed the cornflake pudding, though you should have got the soft serve too, it's awesome! I'm going to the Lion King in a couple of weeks but I've seen it before and loved it!
ReplyDeleteLots of love,
Angie
Damn I missed out on the soft serve - well that's another good reason to return. Glad you loved the Lion King, maybe I was just unlucky the night I went as many other people have said they're surprised I didn't enjoy it x
DeleteLooks like a wonderful dinner! I really did not like the Lion King at all. AFter 5 seconds of seeing the cool way they made the animals I was done. I have lots of friends and family that did not like Lion King at all. I think it was too beige and boring. I love upbeat colorful musicals. Grace xoox
ReplyDeleteI was exactly the same. The animals were impressive at first and then it was just boring.
Deleteeverything here looks so good!

It was delicious x
DeleteFood looks amazing, I'm not a cereal fan but even the cornflake pudding looks great! Have to disagree on the Lion King, we saw it a few years ago and loved it (although William was quite little then, and it's always better to see something like that with a child, as their enjoyment enhances your own, I think!) x
ReplyDeleteI did think my nephew would enjoy it. You're not the first to disagree with me, people either agree or are shocked I didn't enjoy x
