Book Review | Wedding Babylon; Confessions of a Wedding Planner

Sometimes you can judge a book by it's cover as last weeks read really was Splendid - I'd finished reading it by Wednesday and can't wait to get my teeth into another book by Julia Quinn

Having finished Splendid I managed to work my way through another couple of books last week. I started but didn't finish Scandalous by Tilly Bagshawe. I wasn't particularly enjoying it on my journey into work and the minute I start looking at the magazine stand for a glossy to read on the way home I know the book and I weren't going to get along.

Two books I did enjoy were Heroines which was an easy read of bedtime (I try and pick books I can pick up and put down otherwise I'll never get any sleep!) and Confessions of a Reluctant Recessionista. If you love Confessions of a Shopaholic this is a must for you

So back to this week.... my journey into work was accompanied by Wedding Babylon by Imogen Edward-Jones

I've read all Imogen's other Babylon stories (I especially loved Air Babylon) so I'm expecting good things from "Confessions of a Wedding Planner" - I have a feeling some stories about Bridezillas and naughty Grooms are likely to feature - what do you think?

  1. Sounds like a great book! I loved Hotel Babylon when it is on the tv (we spend most of our time trying to work out which hotels it is based on!). I will have to keep at eye out for that book!

I'm reading the trashy but great "Vampire Diaries" at the moment!

  2. Good Heavens Victoria, I had no idea there were so many Babylon books. I adore the Hotel Babylon series and have watched all of it on Netflix whilst crafting at my desk. I hope they come out with more series based on her books. I will check to see if they have them at the Library here in the US.

  7. Sounds like you found another good read, but don't you hate it when you find a book you just can't get into. It happens to me too...I don't like to give up on a book but sometimes you just have too.

I love your word for magazine....a glossy...I'm going to use it..sounds so pretty...hugs, Linda

  8. oh gosh, you have reminded me.When I read 'The Secret Diary of a Shopaholic' we were on a plane, going to a greek island. As we came into land I read something funny and started laughing so hard that I sounded deranged.
Then, back home, I read the second book and was reading that on a bus. There was something ridiculous about jam spoons and agan I couldn't stop laughing. People must think I am some total loon.

I know there is a new book due out 'like mother, like daughter' or something like that. Must get it. But no reading on public transport for me! ;o)

  13. I can't read before bed as I can't put the book down and stay up way too late reading. I tend to read what my 4th and 5th graders are reading, so I've been reading the Percy Jackson series and love it. It's great that you get all this reading time on your commute each day.

  14. I have yet to read the Diary of a Shopaholic, but my friends and I did enjoy the movie when it was out.

I wanted to tell you that I just found your blog, and was delighted to see your banner. I am quite the fan of vintage fashion, so it caught my eye! Very cute!
