Product Fail | imPRESS Nails

imPRESS nails link

Last year I had my acrylic nails removed and whilst I'm quite happy with their appearance on a daily basis sometimes there are events, such as Ben's party I talked about in this post which require a more perfect look.

I'd heard imPRESS nails being talked about and loved the fact that didn't require glue so were less likely to damage my own nail. I'm still scarred by the false nail experiences of my younger years when one false (pun intended) move saw your natural nail being ripped off in a painful manner.

My first experience with imPRESS was in the Summer when I opted for the french manicured version. I was impressed with the speed in which they could be applied although once you've applied on one hand and then try to apply on the other it's a little difficult to get the sticky back off them without risking popping the nail off.

Once these babies are on they feel secure so be careful if you apply one wonky as it'll be difficult to straighten it up as I found out. Unfortunately a few hours later I was left trying to apply a couple with eyelash glue as they didn't last the night.

As I said I wanted to try 'prefect' nails for Ben's party so I decided to give imPRESS nails another try and unfortunately I was in the same situation. I'd say they lasted a little longer than before but still by the evening I was without 2 and actually ended up taking the rest off as it was preferable to be without unpainted nails than 2 rogue obviously not red ones.

So it would seem sadly that imPRESS nails are not for me as I cannot rely on them to last the evening, particularly when it's not like I'm doing anything particularly rigorous apart from eating dinner which could be wear the problem lies in that the grease loosens the glue.

I'd love to know if you've had better experiences with imPRESS or can recommend alternatives.

  1. I find mine last a night but no longer...and weirdly the ones on my middle finger fall off first?! The only time they lasted longer was when I was at a festival, but grossly I think that's just because I wasn't showering (ew, not a solution for real life!) I do think they look pretty though...sigh, I miss my acrylics xxx

    1. It does sound like any contact with grease or water will immediately cause them to pop off! And yes I miss my acrylics too!

  2. Mine hardly lasted any time at all! I bought some in the airport applied them before my flight and had only a few left 4 hours later! I wasn't impressed either, considering the price they should def stay on longer!

Glad i'm not the only one!

    1. Seems to me like everyone has had the same experiences and agree with you if they were a couple of pound I wouldn't be too worried but I'd rather pay for a nice manicure which always looks better done professionally than by myself x

    1. It is disappointing because they are so quick and look so good but nothing worse than being left with odd fingers half way through an event!

  4. I took off my acrylic nails about 4 months ago. I had an event but did the shelack gel nails the paint lasted longer. I will not do this again unless maybe if I go away. It is the new hip thing to have natural short nails!! lol I just am loving the freedom of not wasting a weekend dayfor 1 hour getting them done. I received a few of the press on nails in samples and gave to my little nieces to play with! lol They were upset that they popped off. Grace xoox
