One of the things I was looking forward to doing when I moved out of home was finally cooking my way through my extensive collection of cookbooks deciding to start with Nigella Express
She makes them as a treat for her brother of course!
He was extremely happy (but still requested his favourite Oatmeal & Raisin cookies next time!)
They do sound delicious though!!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, how Nigella isn't the size of a house I don't know! I love several of the recipes in this book, though: pork chops with gnocchi, gammon steaks, anglo-asian lamb salad, singapore noodles, rocky road, the caramel fudge sauce for ice cream, chocolate mousse. There really are some excellent and very quick recipes. Please share any good ones you find!

yum. Good old Nigella though, she cares not for calories!!
ReplyDeleteLove that pink chair.
ooh, the footie on Saturday. I couldn't care less about it, but I did watch some with the husband. I try to come out with some 'I really know what I'm talking about phrases', but I don't, so it's hilarious. Hate those trumpety/horn things. I said to the hubs 'what is that noise,is it a swarm of bees?' which he also found funny. But I was serious. So annoying.
enjoy your book. I think I saw that lady on Paul O'Grady, oh for just a tiny hint of her glamour. She was very Diana Dors in the way she spoke.

It's the condensed milk that makes then so naughty! I have a tin waiting to be made into a buttersctoch tart, you've just reminded me. I'm impressed you baked them and then didn't eat any!

When I started reading I just thought: well of course it isn't weight watchers' Wednesday, but I see that you keep on counting everyday. That must be the secret of your succes ;-)!
ReplyDeleteLove Nigella...your bars look scrummy, I must remember, you don't eat them yourself, but make them for someone else, that's where I am going wrong.....
ReplyDeleteDamn you Nigella!! I've yet to get back in my baking groove. I stopped baking when I started WW because I couldn't be bothered with all the faffing. I'm just now starting to work my way through my little recipe folder and point things. Some of them have made me want to kill myself - no wonder I'm on WW!!
ReplyDeleteBut others have been quite surprising. Making some banana & chocolate cookies this week which are only 3 points each which I didn't think was too bad.
Clever you, how depressing that they are so fattening!!!!

Gosh that is pretty high! Have you tried the Weight Watchers fridge cake? Mmmm delicious, though maybe not for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteWarm Wishes,

They look delicious I have always wanted to try homemade granola cereal, you have inspired me to try!
ReplyDeleteI ove my Nigella books but I have also found that they are quite naughty on the old points.
ReplyDeleteI finaly got to watch Julia & Julia and absolutly loved it. Will have to get in on dvd so i can watch it again.
