Currently Loving | June 2016

There are a lot of products and 'things' I've enjoyed using this month that a monthly favourites post would be too long. Instead you'll have today's currently loving and I also have a holiday favourites post coming up as long as some more detailed reviews.

Days before I flew out to Menorca for a week with friends I had a handbag panic. My dad would have said are you kidding me but there wasn't a bag in my collection that would compliment all my outfits and with an Easyjet luggage allowance I need to be strict with my packing.

Luckily for me my friend and travel companion Lewis Yates owns a shop and after a quick look around his website I had this Michael Kors beauty in Grapefruit on hold for me.  This was my first Michael Kors handbag purchase as despite eyeing up their bags before and with a price point that is 'affordable' compared to other higher end brands it was only now I was tempted to part with my cash.

Pouch, clutch, wristlet call it what you will but aside from the gorgeous colour this was a fantastic purchase and one I loved using on my holiday. When I use a clutch bag I want it to hold money, keys, lipstick, my iPhone and a pack of cigarettes - aside from health reasons I need to give up the bad habit as it limits my clutch bag sizes! The Michael Kors wristlet was perfect. Flying out I was able to put my passport and other travel documents here and then pop that in my larger bag, pulling out when I needed and/or popping on my wrist when I literally needed it to hand. I didn't need a purse as there are card slots and a small pocket for any loose change and it's fair to say this bag was hanging off my wrist morning and night. I could pop it in my beach bag and when we'd head out for lunch I'd just grab this rather than needing to take the larger bag filled with suncreams and books. We also travelled with two small children so having this bag on the wrist made having hands free for carrying duties. The only problem now is I want to buy them in every different colour and pick up the matching sandals.

Since dyeing my hair I've been able to enjoy the luxury of second day hair, something that was unheard of before (unless I wanted to look a greasy mess). Bastiste Dry Shampoo in Marrakech* and Palmers Manuka Flower Honey Leave-In Conditioner* have been the duo that have helped me achieve this. Firstly I'll spray some Batiste dry shampoo in my roots and brush my hair out and then I reach for the Palmers Conditioner and spray over my hair which is often a little wild from being tied up. Once my hair has been dampened I'm able to pick up the hairdryer, brush and style the unruly waves so that I am presentable. I've used a slightly different duo whilst on holiday which I'll be telling you about in another post but back home this was what I was using on a regular basis.

As a flamingo lover I happily jumped on the inflatable bandwagon and treated myself to the Flamingo Drinks Holder for my recent trip. I really wanted the larger inflatable but luggage allowance woes stopped me. Now I'm home and two months away from my next trip I'm thinking about picking up the Pineapple Inflatable as I'll be spending the week around my friends villa and as we'll in Italy I'm going to treat them to the Pizza one. Whilst I loved Florence the Flamingo (of course we named her) I was always a little too nervous about putting a drink in there although it was pretty sturdy.

Rocket Dog Footwear | The JAZZIN long legs

JAZZIN long legs in pink* by Rocket Dog link
Rocket Dog is a brand I was vaguely aware existed but never explored. Of course they caught my attention when they published photos of their flamingo print design on Twitter. After expressing my love for them the Rocket Dog team kindly sent me a pair to try out.

Firstly a little about Rocket Dog. Their brand originated in Southern California in 1997 and their inspiration (and logo!) an energetic pet dog named Max. The brand wanted to encapsulate the laid back Californian lifestyle and become the brand that all young females wanted to be seen it.

The ranges vary from wedges, flip flops to the Jazzin, a lace-up sneaker which I chose. You can pick from all manner of designs but of course as mentioned it was the long legged pink flamingo printed ones that captured my heart.

I admit I'm not one for wearing this type of shoe on a regular basis until recently but lazy Sunday's after a week in heels at work sometimes I just want something comfortable to throw on to pop to the supermarket and these sneakers are the perfect way to do this whilst injecting a little fun.

I've just recently picked up a pair of white jeans for Spring/Summer and they work perfectly with my pink flamingos and I hope to share some OOTD photos with you in due course.

Are you a Rocket Dog fan?

Oliver Bonas Treats

Last week I popped into Oliver Bonas to pick up a gift I'd ordered online and somehow walked out with two for myself - isn't that always the way.

There was absolutely no way I could leave the Flamingo Air Freshener behind, you all know how much I love those cute pink fellas. And with my car due a clean at the weekend this would be the perfect accompaniment to bring a smile to my face for any long drives.

I'm always on the lookout for a new card holders as daily use with oyster cards and work passes requires them being pulled in and out of my bag means they can take a battering. The Alphabet Card Holder in it's gorgeous grey and mint green colour way caught my attention especially as it had a big old V on the cover - my nickname at work. One requirement of any card holder is a clear compartment so that I can flash my id card as I walk in and out of my office building and this had just that - perfect.

Neither essentials but both functional and who doesn't like to treat themselves occasionally. What have you treated yourself to recently?

Origami Flamingo Jewellery

Flamingo Origami Jewellery link
Regular readers and friends of mine will know about my love of Flamingos. I have no idea why or wear it came from but a love it is. Myself and Caroline from Cocktails and Caroline do love to tweet one another our flamingo finds ranging from the affordable to the more expensive

Having a 'thing' makes present buying for me very easy so when my brother and his family spotted this Origami Flamingo necklace and earrings it was a given it would find it's way under the Christmas tree for me.

It's the cutest set that adds a little bit of fun to any outfit yet being white gold silver plated means that it's not intrusive enough to wear to the office with a simple black dress or adds something to the weekend wardrobe.

I'm building up something of a collection of flamingo and pineapple jewellery which I love to wear.

What's your 'thing' and do you have any fun jewellery like this?
