Bratz Study Abroad Doll Review

Back in September I announced that Bratz are Back and as we start thinking about what to buy our little ones this Christmas I thought I'd share another doll from the Study Abroad range.

As part of the Bratz relaunch they wanted to introduce their friends to different cultures and traditions as they Study Abroad. Jade Study Abroad in Russia* comes complete with clothing and accessories which my niece Violet dived straight into whipping off Jades boots and putting her leggings one and making sure her hair was brushed underneath her furry hat.

The range of accessorises in the Study Abroad range includes a suitcase which actually opens and closes to store the change of clothes and I don't know about Violet but I certainly wouldn't mind a full size version of that suitcase!

As you can see the Study Abroad range was a big hit for Violet and you have a choice of Brazil, China, Mexico and even Great Britain. Even better news is that Argos appear to have slashed their prices so you can pick up the dolls for £16.49 at the moment.

It's definitely a thumbs up from Violet.

It's Good to be Bratz

You may remember my post way back in July about the return of Bratz dolls and I was lucky enough to receive one of the Hello My Name Is dolls* to review. Whilst I was quite tempted to embrace my inner child I thought my niece Violet would make a better reviewer in this instance. Violet is four going on fourteen and very much a girls girl. She loves clothes and make up so whilst at four she is a year younger than the 5 - 12 age range specified for Bratz dolls I knew she would love Jade.

The first 'problem' Violets age presented was when I gave her the Jade doll and because of a personalised print I'd been able to create at the launch event she thought Jade was in fact named Violet like her. The second is she has taken to calling Jade her 'Ratz' doll. Both of these things are smile inducing to her family and we've since ironed out those issues but I think the Bratz girls would smile too as the range is very much about creating your world and embracing your individuality.

Each Hello My Name Is doll is priced at £14.99 and comes with a number of accessories, in Jade's case it was a fabulous Cat shaped handbag very Karl Lagerfeld meets Kate Spade I thought. A lips shaped hairbrush which Violet thought was hysterical to put as Jade's lips and some small jewellery accessories. The earrings are slightly flimsy as you'd expect, as Violet instructed me to change the earrings even I found I was a little heavy handed and almost snapped them trying to 'pierce the ears' and of course as any parent will know, these little bits from toys will often get lost.

I was pleased that the following week after giving Violet the doll that she turned up at my parents house with Jade in tow, always a good sign when it's the one toy you're allowed to take with you on a visit to the grandparents. On her arrival Violet got straight down to business and told me about the Bratz beauty salon that she wanted me to buy her for Christmas. Let me tell you my niece and nephew know their way round the toy stores websites like I used to the Argos catalogue. Clearly the Bratz are a hit if more are wanted.

I asked what Violet thought of Jade and I received a withering state and 'she's cool' well you can't say any more than that can you.

It was also pointed out to me that you can watch Bratz on Netflix - just in case anyone is looking for something new to watch!

Bratz Are Back

#bratzareback
Last week I was invited down to The Sanderson Hotel to see the relaunch of the Bratz dolls which hit Argos website to buy this morning. The original line up of Cloe, Yarmin, Jade and Sasha have been joined by a new friend Raya as well as embracing the digital age with lots of online content such as an app and a series of websiodes on their YouTube Channel.

With the new range of dolls and playsets Bratz wanted to ensure that all girls would find a doll they can relate to and empower them to create their own Bratz world whether through the online content or the range of fashion accessories available to them.

Starting £14.99 is the core collection of dolls 'Hello My Name Is'. Each dolls comes with an outfit to compliment their personality - all Bratz are different in their own way - and a number of accessories so that just one doll gives your child everything they need. I know my niece would have hours of fun with them.

For older Bratz fans there is the #SelfieSnaps collection priced at £16.99 which includes items such as a phone cases and selfie sticks or if you're more of a fitness fan and prefer a more natural look on your Bratz doll then maybe the Fierce Fitness range is for you. You have Yasmin the yoga fan including her own yoga mat or maybe hiking with Cloe is your preference in her camo cargo trousers.

At £24.99 you have the Study Abroad range, join Sasha in the UK with her tartan outfit and plate of fried eggs or maybe you'd prefer to visit Mexico with Raya and a suitcase I'm rather jealous of.

Whilst you may not be ready for Winter the Bratz girls are ready with the SnowKissed range at £32.99 including sledges, ski's and snowboards.

Finally there is the more expensive, larger gifts sets which would make the perfect Christmas presents. My favourite was the Sleepover Spa and Hair Studio - even the sink will really work! You can also find a remote control car or Photo Booth for your Bratz friends.

Its a fantastic range and the new addition of online content means that it encourages children to embrace their creativity without ignoring the fact that we live in a world where children enjoy playing with iPads and watching YouTube videos. With dolls that can be enjoyed by young and older siblings alike it's fun for everyone.

I know what my niece will be getting for Christmas, it might just make up for her disappointment that I didn't take her along to the launch! For now the full range is available at Argos but from 31st August you can find it in all your usual retailers. Can you see yourself being a Bratz fan?
