Lighten Up!

As you know I've spent the past few months decorating the flat and buying new furniture, cushions and things but the one problem I had was finding the right light shades to compliment my lounge

In the end I turned to Not On The High Street, specifically The Old Lamp Shed and purchased 2 Cath Kidston shades

Before

After

I was worried they were a little small for the room but everyone tells me they look great! They weren't cheap but they're handmade and I hadn't found any budget alternatives on my search so I'm happy!

I have another day off work today (I love not working on a Monday!) so it's time for some housework and then off to town to have my nails done!

Wishing you all a lovely day

  7. fab lampshade!!!!!! I wonder if they do them in European fittings? Our light fitting is the European energy efficient type, and we can not find any nice lamp shade to fit it!!! xxx

  15. Oooh lovely. I might need to check out that website. I've been looking for a shade for my bedroom.

When we moved into our rental we had 50% bare lightbulbs and the other 50% were 80's stylie upshades.

We ended up with some cheepy shade from Ikea for most rooms. Don't like them very much but with 14 lights to shade we couldn't afford to splash out on the stuff we liked. But I have found it so difficult to find 'nice' shades for a mid-range budget.
