Another weekend has flown past especially as mine was jam packed!
Saturday morning a friend came round for a visit so I decided to bake some croissants
In return I was given this wonderful baking book as a housewarming present
There are many delicious recipes for me to try
Later that afternoon I joined my family to celebrate my great aunt and uncle’s 60th wedding anniversary
What an achievement!
Sunday may be the day of rest but not for me as Kelly & I headed off to see Alice in Wonderland
WOW what an amazing film
Typical Tim Burton it was a visual treat, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter were fantastic and whilst it might not have been as light and fluffy as the Disney cartoon version it was a great film nonetheless.
My cinema viewing for the day wasn’t over as I joined my SIL to see Shutter Island
Despite the promising trailer I did not enjoy this one and found it boring!!!
What did you get up to this weekend?
You have been a busy bee. You're certainly right that to be married and in love for 60 years is an amazing achievement, so lovely to hear of and I wish them all the very best, how lovely.
ReplyDeleteTWO films in one day??? You 'buff' you! xxx
Those cakes look scrummy.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Love that you watched two films on the same day. I wish.
Have fun,
Rachaelxx
Yeah I've heard bad things about Shutter Island...tis a shame as the trailer does look good...so you recommend Alice then? Maybe I should go see... Congrats to your great aunt and uncle - what an amazing achievement! Rare in our day and age! xxx
ReplyDeleteglad you had a nice weekend...we went to a party----had a very late drunken one, good fun though x

A weekend that starts with croissants must be a good one!

60 years. Crikey. If husband and I achieved that it would be a miracle, I'd be 93 and he's 10 years older than me!!!! Well done them, something to be proud of.
ReplyDeleteboo hoo, the first piccie wouldn't load in for me :O( but I bet they were yummy scrummy. I love croissants. With a dollop of Bonne Maman strawberry jam, scrum. I tend to save it as a summer brekkie treat, so I can sit in the garden and scoff it. No idea why, it's just my favourite thing to do in summer.
That cookbook looks great. can I come round for a brew and a plate full of munchies?!
xx
tried again, photo loaded, croissants appeared! Complete with Bonne manman! :O) look absolutely fab! xx

ReplyDeleteWhat a clever present a cookbook! I have seen Alice too, it was great, but somehow I even expected more! Congrats to your great aunt and great uncle!
ReplyDeleteVictoria, you will need a few days off from your busy, busy weekend-LOL! Sounds like overall you had a great one. Sorry Shutter Island wasn't a good movie. Jenny, my youngest daughter saw it and wasn't thrilled with it either.
ReplyDeleteOh you did have a wonderful and jam packed weekend! I love Alice In Wonderland, and Have not seen Shutter Island though. Your baking book looks great! suzie xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Victoria, What a lovely cookbook you received! Congrats to your aunt and uncle for 60 years, that IS amazing! I worked as I usually do on weekends, but I did manage to make a couple gorgeous wreaths that I put on my blog today and I got out of cooking and went to a new restaurant in town and tried tofu cheesecake! It was ok, but you can tell it's tofu and NOT cream cheese! I think it lost its flavor, but I am sure it was healthier for me! Suzie
ReplyDeleteYou certainly packed it all in this weekend Victoria.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it all though.
Hugs RosieP x
