Beauty Empties June 2015

June has been another great month for me and empties thanks to my holidays and various travel minis so for those who enjoy these posts you're in for a treat. The first is a miscellaneous collection of beauty items so lets dive in.

Electric Colour Protect Conditioner*
I was lucky enough to try two products from the Electric range and the conditioner was my least favourite. As a conditioner it left hair bouncy and shiny but there was nothing for me that made it stand out from other favourites.

Roger & Gallet Bois d'Orange Invigorating Sorbet Body Lotion*
I'm becoming a great fan of the Roger & Gallet brand having sampled a lot of their products recently. The Sorbet Body Lotion range of body lotions are delicious products to use. Body lotion is the one product I'm trying to increase my use of and this one making its way into an empties post proves that it's happening. I favour a body lotion with a pump as it makes the process seem simpler and easy for some reason and the texture of this product has transferred well into making it ideal for Summer. I highly recommend you give these a try.

Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub
A much raved about and repurchased product. Soap & Glory body scrubs rule in my eyes and you will see evidence of such in a forthcoming post. The breakfast scrub is more suited to cooler weather but I urge you to resist purchasing if you pick it up in your local Boots and give it a sniff.

OGX Coconut Milk Shampoo
I featured this shampoo in last months holiday haul after seeing it pop up on various YouTube videos and used it whilst in Dubai. I enjoyed using this and with some of the conditioner left over I picked up another to take with me to Ibiza. I'm definitely keen to try more from this range and will purchase in full sizes when the time to stock up arises.

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque*
I was really excited when I received this hair mask in a goodie bag following an event as I'd heard so many rave reviews. I was also in love with the scent, if you have a chance its another product I'd recommend you try smelling. Unfortunately the love ends there. I didn't find this product did any more than a standard conditioner. I wouldn't repurchase but it was an enjoyable product to use as part of my Sunday night routine but for scent alone that isn't enough.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter
The Righteous Butter accompanied me to Dubai and I found it worked well doubling up as a foot cream whilst I was there. I went through this small tub very quickly and it's a thick product with the strong Soap & Glory scents they're famous for. I would repurchase on the basis of the product but for me they have other scents I prefer.

Sure Women Crystal Invisible Aqua Aerosol Deodorant
Its well documented what a fan I am of Sure Maximum Protection I am but unfortunately the other ranges, or more specifically the aerosols just don't do the trick for me. They are satisfactory for travel or a freshen up after work but for everyday I need something a little stronger.

A mixed bag of products, some good, some bad - anything you recognise from your stash?

Beauty Empties | March 2015

A somewhat earlier empties post for March solely which seems appropriate because if I left it any longer I don't know how many more empties would feature in this post! Lets get straight into my beauty trash.

The John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo is a favourite of mine and one you would have seen repurchased here. I will definitely repurchase this again once I've said goodbye to the other six or seven bottles of shampoo sitting in my bathroom.
I like to use Micellar Waters to remove my make up before going in for cleansing of an evening although my preference is for the Garnier one which has been repurchased. You can see the battle of these two micellar waters here
I just reviewed here the  Electric Volume Liquid Mist and it's a great product which unlike many sprays  I apply to wet hair before blow drying. For my casual day to day look it's perfect and fuss free which is ideal for the mornings when I'm getting ready for work. I would consider repurchasing if visiting the salon although with more affordable options available it would have to be for a splurge or treating myself.
There is nothing I like better than a foot rub, sadly I have to provide my own but it's made somewhat better by the delicious scent of Lotil's foot cream. If you're a fan of marzipan you will love this. You can see my earlier review here
Another product you may remember I reviewed here. I enjoyed using this oil and would definitely repurchase when a need comes. For now I have an overflowing basket of skincare to work through.

Yes to Grapefruit Brightening Facewipes
I have little to say about the Brightening Facewipes from Yes to. In fact I must stop buying face wipes as I find they make me lazy knowing they're in the drawer. I picked these up in the US when the brand was on my radar popping up on other sites.

Goya Black Rose* link
Sadly despite loving it's vintage origins the Black Rose fragrance from Goya isn't for me. You can read more about this 50s revival here

nspa Nourishing Eye and Lip Treatment link
I have had this tube of eye and lip cream floating around in my skincare basket for years. It's handy tube size has accompanied me on many a flight and I finally decided to use up so it could move on - I'm slightly dubious the length of time I've had it whether it was even serving it's purpose.

Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara* link
I enjoyed this mascara from a 'new to me' brand Eye of Horus who really do live their brand using Moringa Oil, a rare and precious oil found in King Tutankhamum's tomb. No paragons but plenty of Vitamins and antioxidants this is one mascara that wants to take care of your lashes.
Whist it didn't give the va va voom I'd like for evenings on first coat it was certainly perfect for day when you might find yourself heading for after work drinks another layer builds up nicely. I have some photos of me wearing which I'll pop on Instagram.

YSL Volume Enhancing Mascara link
Another product that has been in my collection for some time and no surprises has dried out as I sample other mascara's. This mascara was my holy grail 'back in the day' and was repurchased often. I don't really need to replace although I may treat myself at Duty Free in May!

MAC Wonder Woman Blusher in Amazon Princess  link
This blush has been in my collection since 2011 when the Wonder Woman collection was released by Mac. I actually had quite a lot from the line when it was released although all that remains were this blush and two lipsticks. Unfortunately despite only rediscovering the blush in my collection early last year I subsequently dropped and shattered the blush to pieces. Gutted isn't the word. Now I'm in two minds as to whether to keep the compact for memories sake. I believe I have some photos of the blush in it's pink glory which again I'll post on Instagram. Do you remember this collection?

Maybelline Baby Lips, Peach Kiss link
I want to do a celebratory dance that I have finished a lip balm - I think this might be one of the few times this has happened! I originally posted on my Baby Lips purchase in this post and whilst I wasn't wowed it held a worthy place in my lip balm collection (which is massive might I add and there is a post forthcoming)

What have you been using up this month?

Electric Hair Products Review

Electric Hair*
When I was asked if I want to try a couple of products from the Electric Hair range I jumped at the chance. It immediately brought back memories of a girlie trip to Brighton when we had booked into the Electric Hairdressing Salon in the famous Lanes to have our hair styled before a night out.

One of the most beautiful hairdressing salons in Brighton set in a double bay fronted town house on Ship Street, in the heart of the famous Lanes.

Electric Colour Protect Conditioner* link
Conditioner appears to excite a lot of bloggers but I just don't really get it... until recently. I was fairly indifferent to seeing conditioner thinking I'd just throw this into my rotation pile and see whether I did or didn't like it.

Firstly I enjoy using it. I find shampoo and conditioners can be hit or miss with me and/or leave the hair a greasy mess but I'm pleased to say this wasn't the case and I found that my hair looked pretty damn good afterward.

The bottle I received is for colour treated hair and at the moment I'm channeling my inner Kate Middleton and letting my grey's roam free so I can't speak to it's ability to ensure hair stays in tip top condition. I can tell you that it contains sunflower seed oil and wheat proteins which encapsulates the colour and lustre of your hair whilst deliverying antioxidant protection.

Electric Volume Liquid Mist* link
The Electric Volume Liquid Mist I was excited to use as most of those I've used are of the spray variety rather than 'liquid' (ie Bumble & Bumble Dryspin Finish). Next I wish I'd had the foresight to decant this into my Edinburgh travel bag back in January when I was panicking I couldn't take any hair products with me due to size.

The Volume Liquid Mist works as you would imagine to create volume and is different from other volumising products I've used in the past due to it's liquid form. Obviously it's psychological that volumising products need to be of that dry, powder is the wrong word but only one I can think of to describe. Basically products that are in an aerosole rather than a spray.

I spray this onto my hair after washing and then blowdry as normal and then I'm good to go. Often I can be known to reach for numerous products to puff and primp my hair but this makes the process simple for daily use when I don't have the desire to put in effort but still want to have a good hair day. I spray this across my wet hair and then blow dry as normal. It doesn't weigh down the hair at all and it's almost like I'm fooled into thinking my hair is naturally so voluminous than giving the credit to the Volume Liquid Mist.

It can also be used to refresh hair on non-shampoo hair days although I've not tried that for myself yet as I tend to wash my hair daily.

The advanced amplifying formula delivers lasting volume, leaving no hint of residue whilst weightless conditioners detangle the hair to prevent breakage infusing fine hair with ultimate volume and brilliant shine.

I'm off to Brighton for my birthday next month so I might pop along to the salon and see what other goodies I can pick up.

Have you heard of Electric Hair Salons or products before?
