What I got for Christmas | Beauty

One would think that I wouldn't have need to find any beauty products under the Christmas tree but I couldn't help adding one or two things I was lusting after onto the list this year and friends and family didn't let me down. Whilst I'll do a quick run through today many will deserve posts of their own so keep a look out for them coming up.

Shalimar Parfum Initial was one of my mum's rogue purchases. Not from the list but a perfume I'd regularly sniffed on our days out she decided to treat me to it and so far I'm enjoying it and it's such a pretty bottle it looks perfect on my dressing table.

I recently ran out of Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Bath Oil and decided to hold off replacing and instead ask Father Christmas to drop this down the chimney for me. Even better I received this and the body wash and cannot wait for an indulgent bath using these products… now do I treat myself to the body lotion?

Another product I used up the latter part of 2013 was Molton Brown's Eucalyptus Bubble Bath and you'll remember it's my go to when suffering from the sniffles so I was pleased to find a replacement in my stocking as well as a couple of additional scents. It looks like 2014 will be spent in the bath surrounded by bubbles.

The Sanderson hand wash and candle duo was from my SIL's mum and smells gorgeous. I'm near the end of my current hand wash of choice and this will be finding it's way on to my bathroom shelf very soon and the candle is ready to be lit for my next bath.

Another product I was coming to the end of was my Soap & Glory Breakfast Food scrub. Whilst this is a definite repurchase I mentioned to my mum that The Body Shop had a vanilla scented offering and she picked it up for me with an accompanying shower gel. Vanilla is such a favourite scent of mine I can't wait to see how this compares to my previous favourite.

My friend Rose and I spend far too long talking about beauty and skincare in our daily emails so she knew the Liz Earle gift set would be a hit for me. Full of mini sizes from the Liz Earle range including the Body Wash which I don't think I've ever used this is destined to join me on any forthcoming holidays I'll be booking.

I was hopeful but unsure whether I would find the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette for Christmas but I did sent my mum a cheeky text when she was on a shopping trip in London that if she happened to be passing House of Fraser the palette had just been released and I would love to own it. This is my first palette from the Naked range and I think it's a good place to start. I'm still in the too scared to touch it phase at the moment but I don't think that will last long.

And last but by no means least my BFF did good and gave me a whole box of make up from Charlotte Tilbury. This of course needs it's own post (and some better photos than I initially took!) but here you can see a sneak peak of So Marilyn the red shade from the lipstick collection. So far I've only spent time swooning over my goodies and can't wait to start experimenting.

This is the final post in my 'what I got for Christmas' series and I hoped you enjoyed it. Let me know what beauty bits you found in your stockings and you'll be using in 2014.

  14. Wow, you got some lovely gifts. I received a Chanel No. 5 Body Lotion from OH which was a lovely surprise, some Laura Ashley eau de toilette, which I will be using on a daily basis once I've used up my Body Shop Pink Grapefruit eau de toilette spray, and a lovely Rose body butter. Not many beauty products this year, but the ones I did get were very nice. Good news for the £100 beauty challenge too. I also treated myself in the sales to a Boots Seventeen Nail Varnish set as it had some irresistible colours in it. Not good news for the beauty challenge though but we all need to be able to treat ourselves now and again.

I didn't ask for the UDNP3, so didn't get it. Looked in my local Debs. but couldn't find it. It's on my To Buy list!

You did well. Good swag! x
